How does DateGuard scanning work?
DateGuard uses AI to analyze dating profile screenshots and conversation text that you provide. Upload a screenshot or paste conversation text, and our AI will scan for known scam patterns, catfishing indicators, manipulation tactics, and other red flags. Within seconds, you receive a risk assessment with a score and detailed breakdown of any concerns found.
What do the risk scores mean?
Risk scores indicate the likelihood of potential safety concerns based on AI pattern recognition. A low score suggests fewer red flags were detected, while a high score indicates multiple concerning patterns. However, scores are probabilistic — a low score does not guarantee safety, and a high score does not prove malicious intent. Always use your own judgment alongside the analysis.
How do I delete my scan history?
You can delete individual scan results from within the app by navigating to your scan history and swiping or tapping the delete option on any scan. Deleted scans are permanently removed from our servers. To delete all scan history at once, you can delete your entire account (see below).
How do subscriptions work?
DateGuard offers a free tier with limited scans and a premium subscription with unlimited scans and advanced analysis features. Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Stripe. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store settings or within the DateGuard app.
Are my screenshots stored?
No. Uploaded screenshots are temporarily processed for AI analysis and then deleted from our servers within 24 hours. Only the analysis results (risk score, flags, and recommendations) are retained in your account. We recommend cropping out your own personal identifiers before uploading.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from within the app by going to Settings and selecting "Delete Account." This will permanently remove all your data, including your account information, scan history, and analysis results. For more details, visit our account deletion page.
