Privacy Policy — PupCoach

1. Introduction

Heijnes Digital ("we", "us", "our"), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 99250926, operates PupCoach, an AI-powered puppy training coach application. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use PupCoach. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

2. Data We Collect

When you use PupCoach, we may collect the following types of data:

  • Account information — your email address and display name when you create an account
  • Puppy information — breed, name, birthday, and size category of your puppy
  • Training data — completed lessons, daily challenges, streaks, and milestones
  • Potty logs — accident and success tracking data
  • Socialization checklist — interaction records with people, animals, sounds, and other environmental stimuli
  • Household data — member roles and shared training assignments
  • Usage data — app interactions, feature usage, and anonymized analytics
  • Device information — device type, operating system version, app version, and language settings
  • Payment information — transaction records processed via Apple App Store (we never see or store your card details)

3. AI Processing

PupCoach uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized training lessons. Here is how your data is processed:

  • Your puppy's breed, age, and training history are sent to Anthropic (Claude) to generate personalized lessons tailored to your puppy
  • All data sent to AI providers is anonymized — no personal identifiers (such as your name, email, or account ID) are included in the requests to AI providers
  • We do NOT use your personal data to train AI models

4. Data Storage

Your data is securely stored on Supabase storage infrastructure. Your information is accessible only to you through your authenticated account. We use encryption at rest and in transit to protect your stored content.

5. Payments

Payments for PupCoach subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. We never see, collect, or store your credit card details or other payment card information. All payment processing is handled by this PCI DSS-compliant third-party provider. We only receive confirmation of successful transactions and basic transaction metadata.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate PupCoach:

  • Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and storage
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered lesson generation
  • RevenueCat — subscription management
  • PostHog — privacy-friendly analytics
  • Sentry — error monitoring and crash reporting

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data processing practices. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

7. Milestone Sharing

PupCoach allows you to share your training milestones with others. When you choose to share a milestone, a card image is generated locally on your device and shared via your device's share sheet. We do not host or store shared milestone images on our servers. Once a milestone is shared, the recipient's access to and use of the shared content is their own responsibility.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to data portability — request your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Right to object — object to the processing of your personal data
  • Right to withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will remove all your personal data, including your training history and puppy information, within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as transaction records for accounting).

10. Children's Privacy

PupCoach may be used by families with children, but accounts must be created by users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected data from a child under 16, please contact us at privacy@heijnesdigital.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of PupCoach after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
