1. Introduction

Heijnes Digital ("we", "us", "our"), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 99250926, operates DailyDuel — a "Human vs AI" daily challenge app where users vote on whether content is human-created or AI-generated, submit their own content, and climb leaderboards. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use DailyDuel.

2. Data We Collect

When you use DailyDuel, we may collect the following data:

  • Account information: email address and display name
  • User submissions: text and images you submit for challenges
  • Voting data: your votes on whether content is human or AI-generated
  • Leaderboard data: scores, streaks, and ranking information
  • Usage data: app interactions, feature usage, and anonymized analytics
  • Device information: device type, operating system version, and language settings
  • Payment information: processed securely via Apple App Store or Stripe (we do not store your payment card details)

3. User Submissions

Content you submit to challenges (text, images, or other media) may be displayed to other users within the app for the purpose of voting. By submitting content to DailyDuel, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use that content within the app for challenge and voting purposes. You retain ownership of your original content.

4. Voting Data

We track your votes to calculate scores, maintain leaderboards, and detect patterns that may indicate manipulation or abuse. Your individual votes are anonymous to other users — no one can see how you voted on specific challenges.

5. Leaderboard

Your display name and scores are publicly visible to other users within the app via the leaderboard. If you prefer not to appear on the leaderboard, you can adjust your display name in your account settings.

6. AI Content and Your Data

The AI-generated content used in DailyDuel challenges is pre-generated and is not based on your personal data. We do not use your personal information, submissions, or voting history to train or generate AI content. Your data is never processed by AI models for purposes beyond providing the core app functionality.

7. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the DailyDuel service
  • To display challenges and process votes
  • To calculate scores and maintain leaderboards
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To detect and prevent abuse or manipulation
  • To send important service-related communications
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve the app
  • To comply with legal obligations

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Apple App Store — app distribution and in-app purchases
  • RevenueCat — subscription management
  • Sentry — error monitoring and crash reporting

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate personal data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Restrict or object to processing of your data
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)

10. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Please note that content you submitted to completed challenges may persist in those challenges, as other users have already interacted with it. However, your personal identifiers will be removed from such content.

11. Children

DailyDuel is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that data promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of DailyDuel after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
