Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the SettleIn mobile application ("App") operated by Heijnes Digital ("we", "us", or "our").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
SettleIn is a mobile application designed to assist users with international relocation. The App provides:
- Personalized checklists for moving abroad
- Cost of living calculators and comparisons
- AI-powered coaching and assistance
- Community features including tips and buddy matching
- Document storage and translation tools
- Visa information and guidance
- Language learning phrases
3. Important Disclaimers
Information Accuracy
The information provided in SettleIn is for general guidance only. We make every effort to keep information accurate and up-to-date, but we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, accurate, or current. Immigration laws, tax regulations, and other official requirements change frequently.
Always verify important information with official sources such as government websites, embassies, consulates, or qualified professionals (lawyers, tax advisors, immigration specialists) before making decisions.
Not Professional Advice
The App does not provide legal, tax, financial, or immigration advice. The AI Coach, visa wizard, tax calculator, and other features are informational tools and should not be considered professional advice. Consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation.
User-Generated Content
Tips and information shared by other users are their personal experiences and opinions. We verify tips using AI but cannot guarantee their accuracy or applicability to your situation.
Scam Detector
The rental scam detector is an AI-powered tool designed to help identify potential red flags. It is not infallible and should not be your only method of verification. Always conduct your own due diligence before entering into any rental agreement or financial transaction.
4. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the App.
- One person may only maintain one account.
5. Premium Subscription
SettleIn offers a one-time Premium purchase (€19.99) that unlocks additional features:
- The Premium purchase is a one-time payment, not a subscription.
- Premium features are unlocked permanently for your account.
- Purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Refunds are handled according to the respective store's refund policy.
6. User Conduct
When using the App, you agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or harmful information
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Share illegal or inappropriate content
- Attempt to access other users' accounts
- Use the App for commercial purposes without permission
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use automated systems to access the App
7. User Content
You retain ownership of content you create (tips, documents, messages). By posting content publicly (tips), you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content within the App.
We may remove content that violates these Terms or is reported by other users.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is owned by Heijnes Digital and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
- We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App.
- We are not responsible for decisions you make based on information in the App.
- We are not liable for any losses resulting from reliance on the scam detector, AI coach, visa wizard, or any other feature.
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Premium features.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Heijnes Digital from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
